We're Expecting!!!

Blake and I were absolutely thrilled to find out I am pregnant! It still hasn't totally sunk in yet. I just feel fat and sassy. Not to mention I'm ALWAYS hungry, tired, and feel like crap. It's just amazing to know there is a tiny little person growing inside of me!
Blake is sooo excited, and I love it! He has an app on his phone that gives us daily and weekly updates on what's happening at each stage in the pregnancy. It gives all sorts of advice like what to/not to eat, exercise ideas, morning sickness remedies, etc. Plus it gives detailed descriptions on how my body is changing, and baby's development. Today baby is the size of a large orange!
I finally started my second trimester. I'm hoping it'll be better than the last. I get jealous when women say they never got sick when they were pregnant, because I've been way sick! The nausea has started to die down now which is nice. Now I'm always really light headed, and I get the worst headaches ever! It'll all be worth it though when baby is born :D

We originally wanted to wait to tell anyone we were pregnant until we were further along and passed the "danger zone." It's super hard keeping a secret like that, so we spilled the beans early to Blake's mom to cheer her up after Tyler left. We knew she couldn't keep a secret so we had to tell all our family fast. We bought some baby related candy and brought it to my parents to share the good news. No one caught on though, so I had to ask "does anyone see a common theme in the candy?" They were embarrassed for not noticing. The news caught them all off guard I guess, but they were super excited. If you think that was a bad idea, telling our friends was even worse. We decided to get 3 pizzas and spell out "baby on board" in pepperonis. Well, don't trust the workers at little Caesars because it looked terrible. You could kind of see the word "on." It was funny though.
We decided to start taking weekly pictures to see how fat I'm getting. This is 12 weeks.
13 Weeks. I don't look pregnant quite yet. I just look chubby.
14 Weeks. Don't look too closely, my eyes are halfway closed. Terrible picture.
Our doctor said we'd wait to find out the baby's gender at 20 weeks, but that it was a possibility to find out around 14 weeks if we went to some special clinic and paid like $50 to have it done. Blake and I debated what to do for a long time. We wanted to wait so the reading would be more accurate and we didn't want to pay the extra money, but it's hard to wait when you're so excited! Our friend Stephanie told us that med students usually do free ultrasounds, so we decided to look into it. At ten this morning Blake called the hospital, and they had us go in at 11:30! (Thanks Stephanie!!!)
We were afraid we'd be a burden being there, but they were actually very appreciative we came. They kept thanking us like we were the ones doing them a favor. I guess med students need as much practice as they can get, and not many people know that's an option. The head doctor dude was there the whole time, so everything was done right. They gave us a cd of all the pictures. They even did 3D pictures which we thought was cool since we weren't paying customers (but I didn't post those photos because baby looks pretty freaky at this stage!) It was a little tricky getting the pictures because our baby was super wiggly. Baby kept moving it's arms and legs and jumping up and down. It was hilarious to watch. We also got to find out the gender!!!! It could possibly change since we're not super far along, but the doctors said he's 87% sure that it's a... GIRL!!!! We couldn't be more thrilled! (Baby is waving :D)
We told ourselves we wouldn't buy any gender specific items when we found out, just in case it changes. But of course we couldn't resist! Blake and I each picked out an outfit for our sweet little princess. (We kept the receipt just in case ;D)
Of course Blake picked out the most practical outfit, and I picked out the most fashionable one haha.

Isn't this the cutest dress you have ever seen! My baby will be the cutest thing ever!!!
