I Love October

Since our baby girl is due Monday, Blake and I weren't planning on dressing up at all this Halloween. When the Salmon's invited us to their Halloween party we quickly brainstormed costume ideas. We came up with a "Bun in the Oven" costume, which we thought very appropriate considering our current situation :D.
We couldn't find a bakers costume anywhere, so we ended up making it. I made Blake's hat out of a pillow case, and we put electric tape over the buttons on his church shirt to make it look more like a chef's attire.
We also gave him a "bun maker" badge, scarf, and a hot mustache.
My parent's have tons of boxes sitting around because of their business, so finding the perfect oven wasn't a problem. We painted it and added straps. Unfortunately, I forgot to cut divets at the sides for my arms to rest comfortably. Oh well.
I painted a "bun" on some fabric and taped it to my shirt. We also put the baby's due date on the oven timer.
Our costumes turned out great, and best of all... we spent $0!!! That's the way to do it :D.
We were in charge of an appetizer and made deviled eggs that looked like eyeballs.
We played Quarters and Werewolf. I won a round of Quarters which was pretty cool. We are like $8 richer now, haha.
Several weeks ago, we went on a big group date to Hee Haw Farms. We wanted to do something Halloween-ish, but it's hard to get around when you're prego. Since I couldn't do a haunted house or corn maze, we decided to try out the Haunted Hayride. Unfortunately, it was raining so the hayride was shut down. I felt bad holding everyone back, so I sat out while everyone else went through the haunted house. The next week, a little group of us went back for the hayride. It was pretty mild, but still tons of fun. Especially since we had a few pansies with us.
Yes, I wear Blake's clothes now.

As soon as October arrived I wanted to decorate pumpkins. We decided to paint instead of carve. That way the pumpkins can last until Halloween. Plus we've been on edge not knowing when baby will arrive, so we made sure to get it done early. Blake and I decided to make our family. Looking at our pumpkins is like looking in the mirror! J/K but we did add some accessories to make them fit our personalities.
Of course we had to make Kaylie a pumpkin!

Shawn and his girly friend painted with us. Do you recognize this lion??? It's Simba!
